Preface
The preparation of the history was assigned to the author by the Boone's Creek Association. Some of the churches in that association were among the oldest in Kentucky. Other churches of that association have disbanded and had been disbanded prior to the constitution of the Boone's Creek Association in 1823.
The authors ancestors from colonial days were Baptists and constitute menbers of teh "Traveling Church" that came from Virginia in 1780, and still exists as Providence Church, Clark Co., KY, the oldest church constitution in the state.
The author has prepared the history of all the churches now or heretofore connected with Boone's Creek Association. A number of the records are in bad condition, and difficult to make out with certainity.
The author appreciates the assistence of pastors and clerks of Boone's Creek Association; also to Bro. Elvado Tudor, moderator of Tate's Creek Association; and to the Primitive Baptists for use of association records, among whom were:
