The original Weston Bohannon homestead house is still standing and occupied. It is near the banks of the Green River next to Wrightsburg, which I think was on Weston’s property at one time, as a Wright worked as farm labor for him for a while. That house is 150 years old this year.
William Henry BOHANNON was, I think, the first preacher in that new church (Methodist) building (referring to McLean County Pictorial History). An interesting story about him: His brother, Abraham BOHANNON, was the local saloon owner. One night Preacher William got into a gunfight in the saloon and killed a man who picked on him. The man had been drinking too much William was put on trial and acquitted due to self-defense. We have this story from 2-3 old timers (who may have died by now) but have no written confirmation
