These letters to and from Chittenden Lyon ca 1828 while he was representing western Kentucky in the US House of Representatives were located in the holdings of the New York Historical Society by Mildred Tandy. She obtained and transcribed copies which were then amended by the NYHS. I obtained permission from the NYHS to post them with the provisions that they retain the original spelling, punctuation, grammar and capitalization, and that they be properly attributed.
