68th Kentucky Enrolled Militia

The 68th Enrolled Militia was formed by Colonel Thomas McKinster who had seen previous service as captain in the 14th KY Infantry. Its main purpose was to support and assist Federal troops in the defense of Eastern Kentucky against Confederate forces operating in the region in 1864, such as John Hunt Morgan.
