Dear Sir

In response to call on No 13 would say that from the period of my discharge from the Service I returned to my home in Lawrence co Ky and have resided there ever since my occupation has been that of a farmer I contracted Rheumatism of Right Knee from a hurt received while in the United States Service by being accidentally struck with the Gun of a comrade in 1864 at Louisa Ky . I contracted liver & Kidney disease while on Detached duty in the Militia on a push Boat Near Paintsville Ky These Disabilities have continued to exist ever since and was treated after the service by

Dr R S Whitt for the same who is now deceased and have used Patent medicines Baths to for temporary relief in time of extreme suffering. It would be impossible for to live dates of total helplessness I have continuously suffered and had bad spells so that I could not do anything But made no notes of the dates am only able at any time to perform about one half the labor of a Sound able bodied man and large proportions of time none.
