Whereas Lot Pitman Dec'd died seized and possessed of Certain tracts of Land in Laurel County and dower having been assigned to his widow Nelly S. in the forks of the road tract only and the undersigned Andrew Craig and the said Nelly S. Pitman having intermarried. Now this indenture witnesseth that for love and affection we the said Andrew Craig and Nelly S. Craig his wife, late Nelly S. Pitman, have and bear towards the heirs of the said Lot Pitman dec'd. To Wit: John Pitman, John McKee & Louisa his wife late Louisa Pitman, Reuben Ohler and Ann his wife late Ann Pitman, Christopher Pitman, Catharine Pitman, and Mary Elizabeth Pitman all our right title interest Claim or demand, being a life estate in and to one undivided third part of four unimproved tracts of land lying in Laurel County. One containing 50 acres lying on little Rockcastle, one Containing 670 acres on the waters of the Hazle fork. Both of these tracts were conveyed by John Denson & wife to the said Lot Pitman by deed admitted to record in the Clerks office of Laurel County Court on the 12th day June 1835, & for a particular description of said tracts of land, said deed of Conveyance is referred to. Also one tract containing 1150 acres Pattened to Lot & Louis Pitman on the 26 day May 1826, also 243 acres pattented to Lot Pitman on the 28 day of Dec'r. 1827 which Pattens are here referred to for a particular discription as to Boundary &c.

 

In Testimony of which we have hereunto Set Our names and affixed our Seals this 6th day of May 1845.

I William H. Randall Clerk of the County Court for the County aforesaid Certify that this conveyance from Andrew Craig and Nelly S. Craig his wife to John Pitman, John V. L. McKee and Louisa his wife late Louisa Pitman, Reuben Ohler and Ann his wife late Ann Pitman, Christopher Pitman, Catharine Pitman, and Mary Elizabeth Pitman was this day produced to me and proven by the Oath of Granville Pearl and Lawson Pitman subscribing witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of said Andrew Craig and the said Nelly S. Craig being examined by me personally and apart from her husband declared that she did fully and willingly seal and deliver the said writing and wishes not to retract it, and acknowledged the sd. writing again shown and explained to her to be her act and Deed and considereth that the same may be recorded whereupon the said deed together with the foregoing Certificate hath been duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 6th day of May 1845.
