Vaughn.Lucinda.1908.Crittenden.OBIT Lucinda Vaughn 13 Jan 1908 Crittenden Record-Press 16 Jan 1908 Mrs. Lucinda Vaughn, mother of Mrs. Sarah J. Elder and Mrs. Nancy Newcom, both of this county, died Monday, Jan. 13, 1908, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Newcom, near Blackford, and was buried at Roseland [sic] Tuesday. Mrs. Vaughn was one of the county's oldest citizens and had passed the 94th milestone. She was born Dec. 30, 1813. Her husband, Henry Vaughn, died in 1874, over 33 years ago and is buried at Crooked Creek. Mrs. Vaughn was born in North Carolina and was brought here to this county by her father when she was a babe in arms and he settled near "Cross Keys Tavern." She married Henry Vaughn March 29th, 1832 and they lived happily together for 40 years. She was a member of Crooked Creek church over 60 years and was the mother of 9 children, 35 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren, making a total of 129 descendants.
