JOE MADDEN DEAD
Joe Madden, R.F.D., Lexington, Ind., aged 65 years, died Saturday Nov. 
4, 1950, at St. Joseph's infirmary, Louisville, Ky., where he had been 
taken 10 days before for treatment.
He was the son of Jacob and Sallie Pace Madden, and had spent most of 
his life in Kentucky.  He had  been a coal miner until four years ago 
when he came to the Lexington community to operate a farm.  He was a 
member of the Disney Baptist Church,. Kentucky.
Left to mourn his death are his wife Mrs. Margaret Hensley Madden, 
children Mrs. Tilda Cloud, Disney, Ky., Jess Madden, Lexington, Ind., 
Mrs. Mary Gilbert, Disney, Ky., Mrs. Rachel Wilson, Lake City, 
Tennessee, Miss Della Madden, Ewell Madden and Hap Madden, all of 
Lexington, R.2.
He is also survived by brothers Champ Madden, Manchester, Ky., Grant 
Madden, Kisney, Ky., and sisters Mrs. Hannah Short, Clover Splint, Ky., 
Mrs. Mary Cloud Disney, Ky., Mrs. Dollie Widener, South Carolina.
The Rev. V.W. Sears conducted the funeral at the family home near 
Lexington at 10 A.M. Tuesday.  Interment was in charge of L.B. Stewart & 
Son at the Lexington cemetery.
