                 RUFUS "DUZE" JAMES (Newspaper)
     Rufus (Duze) James, 70, of Lizzie Fork, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday, August
9, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
     He was born in Pike County, February 14, 1918, a son of the late 
Nelson and Nora Justice James.

He was a retired coal miner and member of District #3, Local Union #8045,
United Mine Workers of America.
     He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtye Adams James, who died
January 7, 1980, and by one son, Kennie James, and one daughter, Cinda 
Lou James.
     He is survived by three sons, Plennie James and Arvil James, both
