James.Nelson.1979.Pike.OBIT NELSON JAMES Nelson James Sr., 79, of McVeigh, died Oct. 9 in the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson following a long illness. He was born March 12, 1900 in Pike County to the late Estil and Mary Fields James. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a retired miner. Survivors include wife Zella James of McVeigh; daughters Mrs. Hobert Anderson of McVeigh, Mrs. Marshall Harper of Mayfield, Mrs. Herman Anderson of Lincoln Park, Mich., and Mrs. Franklin Smith of Varney; sons Nelson "Buddy" James Jr. of Meta, Roy James of Lincoln Park, Mich., Clyde James of Canada, Ky., and Corbett James of Pinson Fork; two step-sons James Williamson Jr., of Elkhart, Ind., and Dennis Williamson of CA; two step- daughters Mrs. Hubert Hutchinson and Mrs. Francis Cappelletti, both of Elkhart IN; two brothers Victor and Frank James, both of McVeigh; five sisters, Sofie Elkins and Corona James, both of Turkey Creek; Deset Slone and Dollie Justice, both of Pikeville, and Hollie Morris of Columbus, Ohio; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
