Mrs. Dessie Stamper Highland, 82, Maysville Road, widow of Jesse P. Highland, died at 11 a.m. Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington after a short illness.

A native of Montgomery County, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Sally Beckett Stamper and a member of the Somerset Christian Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. George M. Horton, Mrs. Roger H. Hedden and mrs. James A Scobee, Jr. all of Mt. Sterling.

Services were conducted by the Rev. Gary Heniser and the Rev. Howard Humphries at 2 p.m. Monday at the Eastin-Richey Funeral Home. Burial was in Machpelah Cemetery.

Casket bearers were August Wilson, Clarence Wilson, J. C. Ishmael, Roy Saunders, Charles Boyd and Jack Gilvin. Honorary bearers were R. W. Frame, Neil R. Maxey, Dr. J. M. Bush, Eddie Craig, Jasper Reynolds, Tandy Henry, Ford S. Bailey, Ross Melton and Corsie Moore.
