John H. Dean was grandfather of my father, Bradley Dean Rafferty. He was a 
musician, player of many instruments,and teacher.  Did piano tuning and repair. 
Served briefly in the Civil War, as a Union drummer boy, at age 14, before his 
underage was discovered and he was released. A devoted family man.
