| HOWARD ALBERT BENNETT, 85, of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Barbourville, passed away Friday, January 1, 1999 in the Flagler Pines Nursing Home in Bunnell, Fla. He was a son of the late Amos and Mary Ellen Bennett. Mr. Bennett and his wife, Hazel, owned and operated the former Bennett Furniture Store, which is now Williamson Furniture Store. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy and a member of the St. Augustine Shrine Club and the Kentucky Mountain Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Hazel Williamson Bennett of St. Augustine, Fla.. Funeral services were held in the chapel of the Craig Funeral Home in St. Augustine, Fla., Wednesday, January 6 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Warren Frederick officiating. Burial followed in the St. Augustine Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy may go to the McDowell Baptist Church, Bay View Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32095.
