Mrs. Maxine Lawson Baker, 86, of Artemus, Ky., the daughter of the late John C. and Hester Davis Lawson, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003 at her home. She was a member of the Artemus Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Baker.

She is survived by one son, Paul Baker and wife Susie of Davis Bend; one sister, Juanita Mills of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren.

Services were conducted in Hampton Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003 with the Rev. John Partin officiating. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
