| Mrs. Lucy Valentine, 61, Bimble, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2002 in the Knox County Hospital. She was born in Clay County, Feb. 11, 1941 to Burchell and Sallie (Riley) Smith. Mrs. Valentine was a member of the Bretheren Baptist Church and was homemaker. She is survived by her father, Burchell Smith, of Clay County; two daughters, Lisa Gray and husband James of Barbourville and Jennifer Valentine of Heidrick; one sister, Gracie Hubbard and husband Johnny of Trosper; seven brothers, Earl Smith and wife Laddie of Hamilton, Ohio, Charlie Smith and wife Marie of Dayton, Ohio, Carl Smith and wife Oma of Dayton, Ohio, McKindley Smith and wife Carol of London, Elmer Smith and wife Geneva of Bailey Switch, Bobby Smith of Girdler and Dave Smith and wife Jeanette of Clay County; four grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Valentine were conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 23, 2002 with the Rev. Sylvester Dunn and the Rev. James Mooneyham officiating. Interment was in the Barbourville Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. |
