Mr. Carl Melvin Smith, 75, of Astor, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2006. Born in Pineville, Kentucky, he moved to Astor from Lexington, Kentucky in 1984. He was the owner and operator of a grocery store. He was a Baptist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a Mason. Survivors include his wife: Brenda R. Smith, Astor, Fla.; sons: Richard C. Smith, Crestwood, Ky., Dean Smith, Jamestown, Ky.; daughters: Fatina S. Carroll, Tyrone, GA., Debbie Caudill, Cox Creek, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Astor, with interment at the Astor -Astor Park Cemetery. Beyers Funeral Home, Astor. |
