Ruby Pearl Smith Roberts, 59, of Hyden and formerly of Knox County, the daughter of the late Nelson and Troy Gambrel Smith, passed away Jan. 17, 2003 at Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Hyden Baptist Church and a former cook for Leslie County Board of Education. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Roberts of Hyden; one daughter, Melissa Melton and husband James of Hyden; one brother, Tolman Smith of Ohio; two sisters, Evelyn Dezarn of Manchester and Donna Blackburn of Ohio; one grandchild. Services were conducted Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003 at Hyden Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger D. Wolfe and the Rev. Astor Mullins officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens at Manchester. Dwayne Walker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. This is a courtesy announcement of Hopper Funeral Home. |
