| Maude R. Phillips, 82, of Beattyville, a daughter of the late James Durbin and Callie Howell Durbin, passed away in Lee County Constant Care in Beattyville on Saturday, June 7, 2003. She was a member of Saint Therese Catholic Church and a retired postmistress. Her husband, Edward F. Phillips Sr. preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Charles G. Phillips and wife Joyce of Corbin, Edward F. Phillips Jr. and wife Virginia of Heidelberg, Carolyn G. Snowden of Lexington, Marilyn R. Pack and husband Larry of Douglasville, Ga., Lee Ann Phillips of Jacksonville, Fla.; her brother, Roy Durbin of Heidelburg; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were conducted in Saint Therese Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 with Father Benny Valayath officiating. Burial was in Durbin-Phillips Cemetery on Hwy. 399.
