Ulys Edward Petrey, 98, Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.

On Mr. Petrey's 98th birthday, a U.S. Flag was flown at the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C. in his honor.

He was a member of the Cumberland Heights Church of God, East Fork Masonic Lodge #460 in Harriman, Tennessee.

Survivors include one son, Roy Petrey and wife, Joetta of Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin; one daughter, Brenda Kay Lewis and husband, Ronald L. of Xenia, Ohio; five grandchildren, Ward Leon Petrey, Ronald Lewis, Brian Petrey, Christy Lewis Commerford and Joritta Petrey; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Willard Petrey of Williamsburg; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Petrey; a son, Ward Petrey; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 29 at the Mt. Ash Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Carpenter and Rev. Ulys Cox officiating. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Pleasant View.
