Alma Gilbert Pennington, 87, Corbin, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2003 at the Corbin Nursing Home. She was born August 2, 1915 at Bailey's Switch, a daughter of the late Noble and Mary Disney Smith. She was a Baptist and had belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of America, and Corbin Senior Citizens. Survivors include two children, Linda Boggs and husband, James of Corbin, and David Gilbert of Lexington; and three grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Joyce Prewitt, preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday, July 12 at the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating. Burial was in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. |
