| Barbara LaMarr Messer, 72, Woodbine, passed away Wednesday, July 31,
2002 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center. She worked as a nurse at Hillcrest Nursing Home for 18 years and belonged to Steele's Chapel Christian Church. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Edward Messer; her father and mother, Robert and Hager Hale; and brothers, Charles Ray Hale and Robert Glendon Hale. She is survived by three loving daughters, Sharre Hart, Johnnie Miles and husband, Charles, and Delilah Driggers and husband, Tom; a sister, Phyllis Rhoden; three grandsons, Robert Derreck Rains, Ian Michael Hart, and Cody Blake Driggers; one great-grandson, Taylor Dylan Edwards; three special friends, Niawanna Lipps, Jean Hamilton, and Nora Loerzel; and her beloved pet, Yogi. A graveside service was held Thursday, August 1 at the Locust Grove Cemetery with Brother Marion Parkey and Brother Jonathan Huddleston officiating. O'Neil Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. |
