| James Preston MELTON, Jr. James Preston Melton Jr., 80, of Frankfort, formerly of Knox County, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2006 after a long illness. He was a son of the late James Preston Melton Sr. and wife Katherine Malinda Green Melton. He served in the U.S. Army in the European and Mediterranean Theaters and was awarded two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars and a Victory Medal. He was a former principal in Lincoln County and a member of Crestwood Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Eldred W. Melton; one son, James Preston Melton III and wife Pamela; one daughter, Sarah Ann Hamilton and husband Gerald; four grandchildren; one brother, Robert T. Melton and wife Pat; one great granddaughter; two step great grandchildren. Services will be conducted later at Pilot Baptist Church with burial to be at Pilot Baptist Church Cemetery. Le-Compte-Johnson Taylor Funeral Home will be handling all services. |
