MILDRED DAVIS MAYS, 82, Emlyn, passed away Monday, May 20, 2002 at the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Mays; two sons, Jessie Mays and Lawrence "Red" Mays; and three sisters, Christine Johnson, Joyce Davis and Carolyn Bowlin. Survivors include three sons, Harvey Joe "Ray" Mays and wife, Evelyn of Monticello, Bobby K. Mays and wife, Freda of Pleasant Run and John R. Mays of Ablion, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Mays of Williamsburg; three sisters, Opal Strunk of Jellico, Tennessee, Minnie Lawson of Detroit, Michigan and Betty Huddleston of Williamsburg; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 23 at the Emlyn Church of God with Rev. Harold Long officiating. Burial was in the Whitley Memorial Gardens. Ellison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. |
