Mr. Wesley Maiden Jr., 84, of Mackey Bend, Ky., passed away Saturday morning at his home. He was the husband of Sarah (Jackson) Maiden and the son of the late Wesley &Minerva (Partin) Maiden. Mr. Maiden was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, and was a retired line type Operator from the Advocate newspaper. He enjoyed reading, hunting, and gardening. His parents, four brothers Felip, Shelt, Gilford, Charles Maiden, and one sister Beatrice preceded Mr. Maiden in death. Survivors include his wife Sarah of Mackey Bend, Ky., one daughter Mary &husband Neill of Douglasville, Ga., one brother Silas Lee Maiden &wife Dora of Mackey Bend, Ky., sisters Melissa Main, Minerva Maiden, Marie Hyder, and Sara Logan all of Barbourville, Ky., Betsy Smith, and Lois Smith &husband Leroy of Williamstown, Ky., and Jean Burch &husband Jim of Cinn, Ohio. Mr. Maiden also leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services for Mr. Maiden were conducted on Tuesday Ð Oct. 7, 2008 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. James Croley officiating. Pallbearers were family &friends. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Partin, Frank Jackson, Charles Maiden, Silas Lee Maiden, Chris &John Bargo. Burial followed in the Evans Cemetery. Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
