| MOLLIE GIBSON JONES, 105, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Knox County, passed away Friday morning, February 19, 1999 in the St. Francis Nursing Home in Miami. She was the daughter of the late Finley and Nola Bryant Gibson born on January 29, 1894 in Knox County. Mrs. Jones began teaching school at age 17 and taught at Hubbs, King, Logan Gap and Wheeler. She was one of the founding members of the Artemus First Baptist Church. On August 11, 1917, she united in marriage with Fred Tipton Jones in Cumberland Gap, Tenn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, on November 30, 1930. Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral home Thursday, February 25 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Sylvester Dunn officiating. Mrs. Jones will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Knox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
