Uncle Godfrey Jackson, 97 years of age, of Long Branch, Knox County, died at his home Tuesday, Nov. 7th. Deceased was a veteran of the Civil War and had a host of friends over the county, being one of those who smile their way thru life with a good word for everyone. It is said of Mr. Jackson that he never was known to speak a harsh word, which is a record much to be desired. Besides his wife, a large number of sons, daughters and grandchildren survive. The funeral was held Wednesday in the family graveyard. |
