Mr. Virgil Hammons, 63, of Girdler, Ky. passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 in Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin. He was a son of the late Robert and Mettie Belle Hicks Hammons. He was a member of Dripping Springs Baptist Church and a farmer.

He is survived by his sister, Pearl Hammons Goley.

Services were conducted Sunday, Jan. 12 at Dripping Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Broughton and the Rev. Crit Messer officiating. Burial was in Hammons Cemetery at Girdler.

Hampton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
