Mrs. Fanny Cordelia Stewart (Hensley) Stover

This obituary is taken from an unidentified newspaper clipping held by my Mother, Virginia Kathyrn (Hobbs) Stewart. An assumption on my part is that it was published in the Charleston Daily Mail or the Charleston Gazette.

Mrs. Fanny Cordelia Stewart (Hensley) Stover died Sunday, 15 Dec 1968. She was 79 years of age. Mrs. Stover was a resident of Stephenson, Wyoming County, WV and a former resident of Belle, Kanawha County, WV. She was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church on Witcher Creek.

Fanny is survived by her husband, Roy Erskine Stover; son, Ernest of Belle; her daughters, Sylvia Stover of Belle, Hazel Tredway of Cardington, OH, Virgie Jarrell of Stephenson, Thelma Johnson of Charleston, and Demerise Jarrell of Josephine.

Fanny was born 3 Nov 1889 in Knox County, KY. She married first, Alex Hensley on 16 Apr 1903 at Flat Lick, Knox County, KY. Her second marriage was to Roy E. Stover on 13 Apr 1923 at Clear Creek, Raleigh County, WV. She was the daughter of Isaac "Ike" and Isabella (Hignight) Stewart.

Fanny is buried beside her second husband in the Witcher Cemetery at Belle, Kanawha Co., WV.
