This photo is Lee Scalf (1881-1946) with his first wife Polly May Owens Scalf (1884-1910), with their sons Clifton (1902-1959) and Edwin (1900-1888). Polly was�my grandfather, John Allen Owens' niece - he was made guardian of Polly and her two�sisters when his brother, William Ashley Owens (Polly's father)�died in 1892. Polly died of typhoid fever in New Smyrna Beach, FL in 1910 and her remains were returned to Barbourville and is buried in the Barbourville Cemetery. Lee went back to New Smyrna with his four sons and later remarried to Julia Chambers.
