Revolutionary War Pension Application of Benjamin Netherland State of Kentucky Jessamine County |

On this 20th day of August 1832 personally appeared in open court, before the justices of this court of said county now sitting, Benjamin Netherland, a resident of the town of Nicholasville, in the county of Jessamine and State of Kentucky, aged seventy-seven years, who being first duly sworn according to law, doth on his oath make the following statement in order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress passed June 7, 1832. That he has previously made application for a pension under the Act of 18th March 1818 and his application or claim was rejected � that he also made application under the Act of 15 May 1828 which was rejected. That he served as Second Lieutenant in the 1st Regiment of the Continental Line of the State of Georgia in 1776. The Regiment was commanded by Col. Harbisham, Lieutenant Col. Harris. That he commanded as Captain under the commission (of Lieutenant) ----- and in 1780 he got a ----- as Capt. That his said commission was signed by John Hancock and handed to him by Col. Harbisham. He hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present, and that his name is not on the Pension Roll of the Agency of any state. That his present place of residence is in the town of Nicholasville, in the County of Jessamine and State of Kentucky and that his place of residence was at the same place when his former applications were made. Sworn to and subscribed the day and year aforesaid. B. Netherland And the said court do hereby state their opinion after the investigation of the matter, and after pr�ing the interrogations presented by the War Department, that the above named applicant was a Capt in the 1st Regiment in the Continental Line in the State of Georgia as he states. --- Wilmore T. Price, Clerk of the County Court for the County of Jessamine in the State of Kentucky do certify that the foregoing contains the original proceedings of said court in the matter of the application of Benjamin Netherland for a pension.
