Revolutionary War Pension Application of Frances Miller State of Kentucky Jessamine County |

On this 13th day of December 1843 personally appeared before me, J.C. Christopher, an acting
Justice of the Peace, in and for the county and state aforesaid. Merriman F. Miller, a resident of said
county and state aforesaid, who after being first duly sworn according to law doth make the following
statement to wit That he is the youngest child of Frances Miller decease and Elizabeth Miller his widow - who is a resident of this county. He further states that he is twelfth child of his said Father and Mother, and he states that he was thirty nine years the 29th day of last August, and his oldest sister was named Polly and would be fifty-eight or nine years of age if living. He further states that his said Father drew a pension from the United States on the account of his serve in the Revolutionary War of $20 per anum and that his said Father and Mother lived together as husband and wife from the earliest period of his --- until his death, which took place the 19th day of October 1839. And, his said Mother, the widow of Frances Miller lived his estate as his lawful widow, and is certainly his lawful widow. He further states that he believes from the ages of his brothers and sisters that is older than himself and what his mother has said and the --- that his said Father and Mother was married about the year 1782. And he knows that Elizabeth Miller who have made application for a pension as the widow of Francis Miller, deceased, is the widow of Francis Miller, who was a Revolutionary Pensioner of the United States, and upon the Ky Rates and drew a pension at the rate of $20.00 per anum until his death, which took place on the 19th day of October 1839. He further states that the only records that they have of the ages of the children is an leaf of a Testament and that contains the names of six only, commences with Elizabeth, which is the third child and said leaf he has delivered up to his Mother’s attorney, to wit C.N. Trabue. Further this deponent sayeth not. He further states that Elizabeth Miller has never married but still continues the widow of Frances Miller sworn to the day and year above mentioned before me. M.F. Miller Attest: J.C. Christopher, I do hereby certify that the deponent, Merrimam F. Miller, is personally known to me, and that he is a gentleman in good standing, and of undoubted veracity.
