Revolutionary War Pension Application of James Knight


Known by all these presents that I, James Knight, of the county of Jessamine in the state of Kentucky, have made, constituted and appointed, and by these presents do make, constitute and appoint Abraham Bowman -- of the county of Fayette for me and in my name to demand and receive from the state of Virginia or from the proper office of the Government thereof, whatever may be due and coming to me as pay, half pay, bounty, land or commutation from the -- state for my military services rendered during the Revolutionary War, and I do further authorize Abraham Bowman, -- upon the receipt as aforesaid of any money, certificates, or warrants for land to grant in my name the proper discharges or receipts, therefore hereby notifying and confirming whatever my aforesaid attorney may do in the --. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 29th day of October, Eighteen hundred and thirty.
