Hello Nancy, I just went to the Hopkins County 1850 Census pages, and noticed that there is incorrect information regarding my ancestor, who was the wife of Samuel H. Holloman in the 1850 census. They are Household #408. [http://kygenweb.net/hopkins/census/1850/district1/pg14#408.html] Mary, wife of Samuel H. Holloman, was Mary C. Nichols, who m. 1st Hezekiah Jenkins and m. 2nd Warren A. Holloman. Samuel H. Holloman was her 3rd husband, and they married 12 July 1849 in Crittenden County, KY. (Crittenden Co. microfilmed marriage records) Her first two husbands died in Hertford County in 1838 and 1845, respectively. I believe William Daniel Holloman, b. 1846, was the child of her union with Warren A. Holloman, who died before Wm. D. was born. I've not found concrete proof of this. It is possible that Wm. D. could have been the son of Samuel H. Holloman and his 1st wife Rebecca Fox, also. Mary C. Nichols was b. 29 Dec 1810 and d. 25 Jan 1862, and is buried in Madisonville, Hopkins Co., KY. Mary's first two marriages took place in Hertford County, NC. Mary C. Nichols was a daughter of Wright Nichols, who d. in Hertford County, NC, in 1846, and left a will naming his children. Hertford County court records prove the deaths of Mary's first two husbands. Two of Mary's sisters were living in Shady Grove, KY, when Mary came to Crittenden Co. They were Matilda E. Jenkins (full name was Marena Matilda E.), widow of John W. Jenkins, and who later married James Pierce Joyce, and Elizabeth Jane Jones, wife of John J. Jones. Thank you, Linda Gamel
