Henry County Local--August 1, 1985

Mrs. Edward Abbott, 82, of Route 1, Smithfield, died Tuesday, July 23, at the Jewish Hospital, Louisville.

She was a native of Henry County: the former Hattie Garriott, the daughter of the late William A. and Eva Smith Garriott; a former resident of Crestwood; and a member of the Sligo Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Simpson, Pewee Valley, Mrs. John (Edythe) Foree, Smithfield, Mrs. Joe L. (Bonnie) Foree, Bedford, Mrs. Gene (Dianne) Cook, Bedford; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Winburn, Lawrenceville, Illinois; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24 at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, Lagrange.  Reverend Bob C. Speegle, pastor of the Sligo Baptist Church officiated. 

Interment was in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
