I, William Mays, being of sound mind and disposing memory for which I thank God and calling to mind the certainty of death and uncertainty of life do make and ordain this my last will and testament. First, after my death, I desire that all my just debts be paid. Second, I give to my wife, Elizabeth Mays, all my chattle property to use and dispose of as she may think proper. Third, I give to my wife, Elizabeth Mays, the farm that I now reside on containing two hundred and thirty acres during her life and after my wife's death, I desire that the land be sold and the proceeds be equally divided among my children. Fourth, I desire that after my death that the land that I bought of Andrew Ferrel and Andrew Easley be sold and the proceeds be equally divided among all my children. Fifth, I appoint my son Nelson Mays, my executor of this my last will and testament this May 4, 1870
