Estate of Samuel Marksbury
Agreeable to an order of the Worshipful Court of Garrard County bearing date June Court 1798: We,
John Bryant,
Zachariah Ray, and Absalom Pollard being first sworn proceeded to appraise the estate of Samuel
Marksbury, dec'd.
Agreeable to said order which we return in the following manner to wit:
133 gals whiskey
1 dark bay horse
2 beds and furniture
barrel of pewter
10 chairs
a large pot
large spinning wheel and cards
small pot and hooks
one chest
1 looking glass
knives and forks
3 mugs and tumblers
dutch oven
1 water pail
200 wt of hay
churn and piggin
washing tub
bond on Elisha Dennis for 21 pounds
note on John Marksbury for 9 pounds
balance due on another bond of Elisha Dennis for 3 pounds
to the balance as appears due on his tavern book accounts
Total estate was 101 pounds.
