Will of Robert Henry - 1850
In the name of God amen. I Robert Henry of Garrard County and State of Kentucky being weak in body but of good mind and memory Therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing it is appointed for all men on earth to die. I do make and ordain this my last will & Testament, That is to say first of all it is my will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid and satisfied. In promises it is my will to bequeath in the following manner, first, I give and bequeath unto Jane Henry my dearly beloved wife her thirds of my whole estate and two cows and a good horse besides to her and her heirs forever.
I give and bequeath to the heirs or children of my daughter Polly Pennington an equal share of my Estate with my other children after a deduction of what my dauther Polly received at her marriage with William Pennington not allowing William Pennington to have amy controls of the same. To them and their heirs forever...after the children of my daughter Polly Pennington gets their 6 equal divide of my estate. It is my will that all the rest of my children first, Robert Henry. Rachel Penland, James H Henry and Elizabeth Nichalson be equal shares in my whole estate real and personal after a last and fair settlemant of what each one got before. To them and their heirs forever I therefore revoke and dismiss all which bequeath on deeds of gift by me heretofore make and ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last will and Testament. Nominating and do appoint my two sons Robert Henry and James H Henry my executors given under my hand and seal this 21, day of January 1850.
