Will of John T. Easley, 1874
In the providence of God I have been smitten with severe disease of body but am still sound of
mind and knowing the uncertainty of life at Best I desire while life and opportunity continues to direct what
disposition I wish made of the property I leave behind me. I direct in the first place that all my just debts be
paid of my effects; And in the second place I desire that my beloved wife Betty A. Easley shall have the
---------- and control of the remainder of my property after my debts are paid for her support and the support
and education of our child and children as the case may be, And she the said Betty A. Easley is hereby
authorized to sell any of said property If she needs the proceeds for her support, and she is hereby empowered
if she sells land to convey --- to the same, And in Third place I direct that whatever the above mentioned
property remains after the death of my said wife shall descend to my child or children by her.
The above named wife Betty A. Easley is hereby con--- Executor of this will. In the presence of the undersigned
witnesses the above instrument was executed and signed by me this 5th day of January 1874.

I hereby amend my will above written by the following codicil ---; My wife, Betty A. Easley is empowered to sell
and convey either the tract of land on which I live or a small tract of land I own in Jessamine County or both
of them and vest the proceeds in property that suits her better; such property as whatever remains of it remains
to descend my child or children as the case may be at her death. Signed by me in the presence of the undersigned
witnesses January 5th 1874 evening

the foregoing will was produced to the court at the March term 1874 and proves by the oaths of S. Hedger
subscribing witnesses thereto to be the true lawful will and testament of John T. Easley and as such ordered to
be recorded which -------- by my hand March 23, 1874.
