Prof. B. F. Evans suffered a serious injury one day last week by being struck in the head with a rock by M__Brock causing a slight fracture of the skull. He has been brought to the home of Mr. J. P. Prather in this city and is resting easily, and it is thought wll soon recover, provided no complications arise. Prof. Evans was teaching school at Scotts Fork, and it is said had a difficulty with Brock over one of his sons who is alleged to have misbehaved on or about the school grounds. Prof. Evans is said to have threshed Brock, and the latter met him on the same afternoon as he was returning to his boarding house from school and renewed the difficulty, and struck the Professor several times with rocks, one of which produced a fracture of the skull. Officers have searched diligently for Brock, but as yet have not succeeded in locating him.
