I, Landon A. Thomas being of sound and disposing mind, do make this my last will and testament.
1st, I commit unto God, who made me my soul.
2nd, I desire that any debts I may leave unpaid at my death, shall be paid I owe none now.
3rd, I give to my wife, Ellen M. Thomas during her life the house and home in which we now reside with all furniture and everything contained in it and appertaining to it also

my carriage and wagon and harness belonging to them, also my sorrell horse, Charley also the stables in fact all the things that make it a comfortable home for her,  I also
give her my large cow pasture on Holmes Street beyond the penitentiary; should she as my Executrix and my Executors hereinafter named deem it prudent to sell any part
of said lot to reinvest for my children.  I desire that the front of said lot on Holmes Street be laid off in lots of from 50 to 100 or upward feet, running back from 150 to 200 feet
from Holmes Street back reserving a pass way of from 10 to 15 ft. from Holmes Street to back lot which can be used for pasture. I also give her 150 shares of Ky Bank stock.
4th. I give to my niece, Nannie Powell, 5 of the 10 bonds that I hold on the Indianapolis and Cincinnati Railroad, these 7 bonds principal due October 1, 1888 each for $1,000.
5th, I give all the remainder of my estate both personal, real and mixed to my wife E. Thomas and my four children; Landon, Anne, Emily and Western in equal parts to each

that is where bonds or stock are to be divided; each share shall contain in equal amount of each different kinds of Bonds or Stock as what I have given to my wife in section
No. 3, given to her during her life all that is given in this 5 section , her fifth or childs part.  She will dispose of it as she may desire.
6th, I hereby constitute and appoint my wife E. Thomas as my Executrix and Landon A. Thomas, Jr. Executor also my friend, Geo. B. Macklin as my Executor; they to carry

out the provision of my will and I hereby give them all authority to sell any and all of my lands and real estate in this state or out of to reinvest it should they deem it profitable
to do so, I desire that no security be taken from my Executors nor and schedule of estate to be taken or filed. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this

I hereby appoint my son, Landon A. Thomas, Jr. in addition to my wife and my friend Geo. B. Macklin as one of my Executors as witness my hand this 1st of April 1880

2nd.  I have given to my son, Landon certain bonds on L. N. and L. & N Indianapolis Road (5 in number).  I devise that each of my other children, viz: Anne, Emily and Western,

have an equal number given (5) then the residue or what remains of my estate to be equally divided as above directed in Item 5.

Codicil No 2
I hereby revoke the 4 articles in this will as I have give to my niece, Nannie Powell ten thousand dollars out of the fund left to me by my sister, E. H. Tubman and also have given

out of it $2,500 dollars each, to my children; Landon, Anne, Emily and Western.  Whatever may remain of said fund to be equally between my four children; Landon, Ann, Emily
and Western, as witness my hand and seal this 29th of August 1885.

Monday, October 7, 1889
An instrument of writing bearing date October 23, 1878 with codicils thereto purporting to be the last will and testament of Landon A. Thomas, deceased was this day produced

in Court and filed and said will, codicils and the signature thereto was proven by the oaths of E. L. Samuel and Judge G. C. Drane to be wholly in the hand writing of said decedent.
Whereupon said writing was allowed and established as and for the last will and testament of said decedent and ordered to be recorded, which is done.
