In the name of God Amen. I, John D. Richardson do make this my last will and  testament.
1.  It is my will that all my just debts be paid.
2.  It is my will after all my just debts have been paid that my beloved wife Lucy Richardson shall have the balance of my property to use as she may think proper during

her natural life or widowhood.
3rd.  I will at the death of my wife that my son, James A. Richardson have my negro man Hamson [?] and that my daughter, Eliza Jane Vaughan have my negro girl Julia

Ann to make them equal with my other children to whom I have heretofore give property.
4th.  I will at the death of my wife that all my property of every kind whatever real personal or mixed with the exception of the slaves Hamson and Julia Ann above mention,

which are to go to my above mention children to be sold at public auction to the highest bidder and the proceeds thereof to be equally divided between all my children.
5th.  I do hereby appoint my son James A. Richardson the executor of this my last will & testament. Witness my hand this the 11th day of March 1844.

witnesses thereto & ordered to the record. Whereunto the said will is truly recorded in my office.
