I, John Mullen of Franklin County, Kentucky do make this my will and testament revoking all wills by me heretofore made. 1. I desire that all my just debts be promptly paid. 2. I give and bequeath to Bridget McGowan, my cousin five hundred dollars to be paid to her by my executors as soon after my death as is convenient. 3. I devise to my mother, Mary Mullin all the rest and residue of my property and estate of every description for and during her natural life. 4. After the death of my mother, it is my desire that my executors shall take possession of said estate so devised to her for her lifetime and that they have my farm cultivated using my slaves thereon and that they make said estate as profitable as possible up to the time of the youngest of my nephews and nieces, viz: the children of my sister, Mary Ann Carr and Lucy Lillis, arrives at the age of twenty one years. My executors are directed to pay over to such of the children of my two said sisters as they think proper such pare of the profits arising from my estate after my mother's death as they shall have in their hand, charging each of them with what they receive. When the youngest of said children of my sisters arrive at 21 years of age my executors shall sell all my said estate (should my mother be then dead) and when the proceeds thereof have been collected my executors are directed to make division thereof between all of said children equally charging them with those who have received any of said profits, the object being to make them all equal. I do hereby appoint my friends, William Knight and A. P. Williams my executors and the will carry this will into effect. I desire that they nor either of them shall not be required to give security as executors in the Franklin County Court. In witness whereof I have set my hand this 6th day of August 1862. John Mullen
