I, Daniel Clarke, a free colored man of Frankfort, Kentucky do make and constitute this my last will and testament in words and figures following to wit: I hereby devise all my real and personal estate of which I am now possessed on any that I shall have at my death after the payment of my burial expenses to my two daughters equally, Huldah Johnson and Matilda Tuggle, for their sole and separate use during their natural lives. At the death of either of my same daughters the portion of the estate hereby devised to the one so dying. Such portion of my estate so devised to go to the children of said deceased daughter at the death of said daughter. If both my daughters die having bearing children, the estate so devised to such daughters shall go to the children of such deceased daughter per stripes and not per capital. If one of my daughters die bearing no children, the the portion of the estate devised to such daughter shall go at the period of her death to the surviving daughter for life, remainder to her children. Should any of my grandchildren die before their mother, bearing children, then such child or children shall take such portion of my estate as its parent would have taken, had such parent lived. I appoint Judge A. J. James the Executor of this my last will and testament and ask that he may be requested to give no bond in the County Court. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the 13th of October 1870.
