HALL, REVOLUTIONARY WAR
William Hall, brother of Edward and Thomas, was killed at Boonesborough during the Revolutionary War. Edward Hall lived and died in Estill County, Kentucky.

Thomas Hall, brother of Edward Hall, help built Fort Nelson.

French Tipton List of Boonesborough Pioneers

French Tipton compiled a list of Boonesborough Pioneers in the late 1800s from his interviews of citizens during that time. Edward Hall was listed on the the Boonesbourgh Pioneers List.

Association of the Settlers of Boonesborough,1779, for making a crop of corn
William Hall, Edward Hall, and Thomas Hall were members of the association for making a crop of corn. The Halls came to present day Kentucky in late March or early April of 1779. The Halls were frontier scouts and guards. Edward and Thomas Hall served in George Rogers Clark’s campaigns.

HALL, WAR OF 1812
Garrett Hall, son of Edward Hall
Served in the War of 1812 from March 1812 until September 1813.
Garrett Hall, son of Edward Hall, was a private in the 6th Company commanded by Captain Joseph Clark in the thirteenth regiment of the Kentucky Militia commanded by Colonel Dudley. Garrett was paroled from the enemy, having been taken prisoner by them in what was termed Dudley’s Defeat. Survivors were marched to the mouth of the Huron river on Lake Erie where they were released.

The time period served would indicate that he was in the Battle of Lookout Mountain.

Martin B. Hall’s Widow’s Statement:
“she is the widow of M.B. Hall who enlisted under the name of Martin B. Hall”
“honorably discharged Nov 17 1864 and died the 13 day of July 1890”
Widow’s name is Sarah Hall.

1880 Estill County Kentucky Census:
M.B. Hall is age 45 and his wife Sarah (Walters) Hall is age 29. They are living near Nancy (Lewis) Walters who is a Widow. Richard Hall, a Grandson, is living with Nancy (Lewis) Walters. Nancy (Lewis) Walters is the mother of Sarah (Walters) Hall.

1880 Estill County Kentucky Census:
Martin V. Hall is age 47 and his wife Mary F. (Tipton) Hall is age 39.
Martin V. Hall is living near his parents Martin Hall (age 81) and mother Elizabeth (Brock) Hall (age 80).

Martin V. Hall was born on October 8, 1832 and died on May 12, 1920. He married Mary Frances Tipton, daughter of Joseph and Margaret Gilbert Tipton. They lived in the College Hill area of Madison County, Kentucky. Their children’s names were Leslie and Ulyses.

M.B. Hall/Martin B. Hall and Martin V. Hall were first cousins.

Isaac Hall, son of Garrett Hall, son of Edward Hall
Union, Private in Company F, 49 Regiment of the Indiana Infantry. He died on April 22, 1862 at the Post Hospital, Barbourville, Kentucky during the Civil War.

Isacc Hall was a first cousin to Martin B. Hall/M.B. Hall and Martin V. Hall.
