MISS EVELYN WARE MEETS TRAGIC ENDContributed by Kellie Scott, Nov. 2005 THE CLAY CITY TIMES OCT. 20, 1932 MISS EVELYN WARE MEETS TRAGIC END Miss Evelyn Ware, 51, was burned to death on Saturday morning when the Ware home on Little Hardswick Creek was destroyed by fire. The origin of the fire is unknown as as no one else was at home when the fire started. A brother, Sam Ware, had left home about 30 minutes earlier. The body was found a the foot of the stair steps in in a badly charred condition. Burial is at the Ware Graveyard on Hardswick Creek Sunday afternoon. Ed Ware, Sam Ware and Miss Evelyn Ware, brothers and sisters comprised the family. Thos. Ware of WINCHESTER is another surviving brother. The deceased was a fine woman. Her many friends bow their heads in meditation over the sad and tragic death. Given to me by Marianne Elliston |
