Rankin Marriages

Samuel Rankin to Hannah Harrison

 Know all men by these presents that we, Samuel Rankin and Benjamin Harrison are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just and full sum of L   50   current money of said state to which payment will and truly to be made to the said Commonwealth we bind ourselves, our heirs both Jointly and Severally firmly by these Presents sealed and dated this 11 (difficult to determine the date) of January 1817. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that Where as There is a marriage Shortly intended to Be had and Solemnized between the above bound Samuel Rankin Hannah Harrison.   If Therefore there be no Lawfull Cause to obstruct the Same, Then the above Obligation to be void Else to remain in full force and virtue. Adam Rankin to Sally Harrison

Know all men by these present that we Adam Rankins and Daniel Harrison are held firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the just and full sum of L 50 current money of said state to which payment will and truly to be made to the said Commonwealth.   We bind ourselves, our heirs jointly and severally firmly by these present.   Sealed and dated this 22 day of December 1815. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and solemnized between the above bound Adam Rankins and Sally Harrison if therefore there be no lawful cause to obstruct the same Then the above obligation to be void , else to remain in full force and virtue. (Signatures are illegible for the most part, here is my attempt to transcribe them) Trustee JWP Bullock (or perhaps) J of P Bullock Adam Rankin Daniel Harrison (this is readable) (There are seals beside these two names.)
