Thomas Crain, 67, of Crooksville, died at 7:55 a.m. Friday in Good Samaritan Hospital after a lingering illness.
A native of Grayson, Ky., he was born July 6, 1894, a son of William and Elizabeth Phillips Crain. He was a machine operator at the
old Misco mine for 18 years.
Mr. Crain was a member of the Baptist Church at Ashland.
He is survived by his widow, the former Elsie Barnhart; three daughters, Cleo Dennis of Crooksville Route 1, Patricia Toth of Roseville Route1,
and Miss Judy Ann of the home; four sons, Warren of Roseville, Earl and Taylor, both of Crooksville, and Elmer of the home; a stepson,
Jack Dennis of the home; three step-daughters, Erma Crain and Wanda Head, both of Crooksville, and Ellen Dennis of the home;
three sisters, Mary Crain of Roseville, Mrs. Lucille Roberts and Mrs. Catherine Smith, both of Ashland, Ky.; two brothers, Henry of Ashland
and George of Philo; 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fred L. Cannon Funeral Home in Crooksville.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. William Strausbaugh of the Free Methodist Church, Newark, officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Horeb Cemetery near Crooksville.
