Dear Sir,

Your registered letter of the 15th is recieved. Contents all "OK." Your letter found us all well and leaves us the same.

The people is in the midst of wheat harvest here now and it is the best I ever saw here or anywhere else. Some farmers say they will make 40 bushels to the acre. Corn and oats also looks well. Old corn has been worth $1.00 per bushel here ever since last fall on account of the drouth and whiskey makers. There is as much whiskey made in this state as there are in all other states put together. I cant tell you how good it is as I havent drank any for nearly seven years.

I would like for some of you to buy my interest in the Bald Mountain as it suits some of you and it is no use to me. Let me know what it is worth and who of you all want it. Let me know if it has been lotted off and if it has not, it would be better to have it done and put it up and sell it to the highest bider and there would be no trouble in dividing the money. I want it in some shape so I can sell my part as it is if no profit to me.

Will you be so kind as to tell me what was done with the home place. I have been trying for the last ten years to find out but never have yet.

Yours truly,
Wm. Murphy
