This indenture made this 20th day of October
1806 between Alexander E.
Spotswood of the one part and Hannah Pickett
of the county of Barren and state of Kentucky of the other part .
Witness to the said Alexander E Spotswood for and in
consideration of the relinquishment sale and absolute disposal of by her the
said Hannah Pickett of all her right title interest claim and
demand whatsoever which being an interest for her the said Hannah
Pickett’s life only unto him the said Alexander E.
Spotswood in and to a certain tract or parcel of land lying and
being on Skaggs Creek in the said county of Barren which said tract and
conveyed to him Alexander E. Spotswood by George
Pickett who being assignee of Nathaniel Savage and
in further consideration of the sum of 2 shillings to him in hand paid by the
said Hannah Pickett the receipt being hereby acknowledged he
the said Alexander E. Spotswood hath granted bargained and
sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said
Hannah Pickett and her heirs and assigns forever a ceratin
parcel of land lying in the said county of Barren about four or five miles
from the courthouse of the said county and bounded as follows:
Beginning at a poplar sprout and two sugar tree stumps said
to be one of the corners of a survey of said Spotswood, by
him purchased of the George Pickett and of which the land
herein conveyed being a part of thereof from thence North 50 West 128 poles to
two poplars thence South 31 West 128 poles to a beech and maple about 18 feet
apart thence South 50 East 128 poles to three dogwood s thence North 31 East
128 poles to the beginning which said parcel of land herein described by the
boundaries contained one hundred acres being hereby conveyed for the said
quantity of one hundred acres only and the said Alexander E. Spotswood
the said tract of one hundred acres herein conveyed do warrant and
defend the absolute right of the same unto the said Hannah
Pickett, her heirs and assigns forever as against him and his heirs
and against all others persons whatsoever. In Witness to hereof the said
Alexander E. Spotswood have hereunto affixed his hand and
seal the day and year first above written.

This indenture from Alexander E. Spotswood to Hannah
Pickett was on the day of the date hereof acknowledged before me by
the said Alexander E. Spotswood to be his act and deed and
was thereupon admitted to record in my office.
