For and in consideration of $75 in hand paid to us Jordan Morriss & wife by
Elias M.
Button we have bargained and sold, and do hereby convey to said E. M. Button our
whole and entire undivided interest, title & claim which we have in and to
the landed estate of Elias Button decd. including the Dower interest of Nancy
Button widow of said Elias Button decd. Also our interest in and to a certain
tract or parcel of land containing 66 acres half of which was deeded to said
Nancy Button by Charles Lewis to have during her natural life, the other half
descended to Nancy from her father William Settle
decd. the boundary of which 66 acres is set out in a deed of parlilixxx between
said Nancy-- Charles Lewis & wife B. F. Settle recorded in Barren County
Court Clerks office.
Said land lies in Barren County our interest in it is one seventh part--The
boundary to the above land (other than the 66 acres) will be found in a deed
from Joseph Lewis & c to Elias Button recorded in the Barren County Court
Clerks office. And we covenant and agree to and with the said E. M. Button to
forever warrant and defend to him his heirs & assigns forever the title to
one seventh part of above described land free from the claim of all persons
whomsoever. Given under our hand & seals this 10th day of August 1847.

I Thomas I Helm clerk of the county court for said county certify that this deed
from Jordan A Morriss and Mary Ann his wife to Elias M. Button was on this day
acknowledged before me by the said Morriss to be his act and deed and the said
Mary Ann being examined by me privily and apart from her said husband declared
that she did freely and willingly seal and deliver said writing and wished not
to retract it and acknowledged the said writing again shown and explained to her
by me to be her act and deed and consenteth that the same may be recorded.
Whereupon the same and this certificate has been recorded in my Office. Given
under my hand this 10th day of August 1847.
